Meet Janani, Research Associate and successfully placed returner at ARUP Laboratories. A returnship is a temporary role with customized support for individuals who have taken an extended absence from their career. Returnships offer a transitionary pathway back into the workforce and often lead to full-time employment opportunities.
When she took a break from her career, Janani had a master’s degree in biotechnology and experience working in the life sciences, but when she decided to re-enter the workforce, companies couldn’t see past the gap in her resume.
ARUP’s Returnship program gave Janani a path back into the workforce and led to a permanent position where she is an asset to the team. BioHive’s Life Science Returnship Initiative helps returners like Janani gain back their career confidence, find opportunities within the ecosystem and learn the skills they may have missed while out of the workforce.
